Current stable release is 4.12, released in [2014|https://github.com/junit-team/junit4/releases].
We can levege more test features like Rule, TemporaryFolder, Parameterized Tests, Theories, etc. Here are the release notes:

Junit-4.6 is a very old version [released in 2009|https://github.com/junit-team/junit4/releases?after=r4.7].
