"NullPointerException" on some but not all PDFs

I'm using org.pdfbox.examples.fdf.PrintFields and it's working great on the PDFs I've used it with.

Then I get to one particular PDF, and the results are this:

Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NullPointerException
        at org.pdfbox.examples.fdf.PrintFields.printFields(PrintFields.java:67)
        at org.pdfbox.examples.fdf.PrintFields.main(PrintFields.java:145)

No mention of it being an encrypted file in the feedback.  What could be the issue?

I guess without any more details, such as a sample document, it'll be difficult to help you.
It would be nice if you create a new issue in jira for your problem and if possible attach a sample document to it. So that someone has a chance to reproduce your problem.
