(was: Ok, so I think I've figured out the issue - I had the failure with the test run when {{fs.s3a.s3guard.test.authoritative}} is false, so I don't pass the {{-Dauth}} flag and run it via CLI mvn. To fix this, we should add something like a

    Assume.assumeTrue("MetadataStore should be set as authoritative to run "
            + "this test.",
        configuration.getBoolean(METADATASTORE_AUTHORITATIVE, false));

To {{ITestS3AEmptyDirectory}}, so skip the test if the ms is not authoritative instead of failing.
