dbxml and WinMe

To many this would maybee seem obvious, but I'm having great difficulties
running dbxml under Me. Error messages are saying I do not have enough
memory for system variables. Is this a problem specific to Me/98, and
would it help to install winn2000 or WinXP?
Anyone had this problem??

www.google.com -> Windows ME "environment size" ->

"Windows ME:
Changing the environment size has to be made as follows:

Browse to your Windows directory (for example, C:\Windows).
Right-click Command.com, and then click Properties from its pop-up menu.
Click the Memory tab.
In the Initial Environment box, set the initial environment size to 4096
bytes. Click OK.
Don't forget to reboot your computer after changes have been done!"

I have had the same problem with XP. In the olden days
I would have updated the config.sys and added a "shell" command
with /E:2048. That doesn't seem to work with XP. Does anyone
know how to enlarge the environment space in XP/ME? In
Win2000 it is just like NT and is done through the Control Panel.
