[jira] [Created] (COUCHDB-1420) Futon display breaks on really long
db name
Futon display breaks on really long db name
-------------------------------------------
Key: COUCHDB-1420
URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/COUCHDB-1420
Project: CouchDB
Issue Type: Bug
Components: Futon
Affects Versions: 1.2
Reporter: Sam Bisbee
Priority: Minor
Futon's display breaks if the database name is too long and some information is just not retrieved.
Example database name:
bpjwguulsnozjugktpmtnsucxlojprxyhbmuxkyuqepaptmjvwctautgpiawxiodsqkdrposfrdayauvzkgixkztdaamhhihifdvdqykpqacpmifosdouzlqwxkbooxnebxohdueppgpawfsetsayrzeigevclmnplfewskbzepwqkrpuvsqeqkdnmkgxwrsmdqmgcqkhfkgtnfmcompyugwmymaoguzxwfjn
Marking minor since people who want db names this long/crazy are (a) a minority and (b) should be accepting of minor UI issues.
Cheers.

Robert Newson commented on COUCHDB-1420:
----------------------------------------
We should reject dbnames over 256 characters as the database will be stored in a file of that name and many filesystems have a 256 char limit. {error, etoolongfilename} is somesuch.
