I wasn't able to reproduce the bug with doing cut and paste like the summary
mentioned but I was able to see the same results when copying and pasting from
IE8 to MicroSoft Word 2010 and OO Writer 3.3.
The steps I took to recreate the bug were:
1) Open a blank MicroSoft Word document and copy from IE8 and pasted into
MicroSoft Word with the option of keeping the format.
2) Open Open Office 3.3 and pasted the same text/image into Open Office.
3) Compared MicroSoft Word to Open Office.
I was expecting to see the image to look the same but I saw many discrepancies.
MicroSoft Word copied the image the way I expected. I was able to see the image
and the text very clear. In Open Office, the image didn't display and the text
was a lot smaller than what I saw in MicroSoft Word.

Some other tests that I tried and there results were:
1) CTRL C & CTRL V - I had the same results as above.
2) Snagit - This time it pasted both the text and the image in but in Open
Office the lines were still underneath.
3) Text only and Image only worked fine. The image and the text were there.

The copy and paste functionality is important to customers who have to put
presentations or documents together. The customer wants something that is easy
to use and doesn't require re-work. With the way the copy and paste
functionality is right now, they will have to do a lot of re-work and might
choose another product to do their work.
