Accessing Microsoft Exchange 2000

I'm trying to quickly (i.e. within a matter of a day or two) assess the viability of using Slide to access the MS Exchange 2K Web store. My primary requirement is to retrieve (i.e. just read access is required) a user's appointments, along with a collection of all attendees for each appointment. So, for now, I'm dealing only with Calendar and Contacts. I've done some research over the weekend, enough to lead me to believe that it is possible to use Slide for what I'm trying to accomplish. I'd now like to develop a very simple prototype. I noticed some references to accessing Exchange on the mailing lists, but it's not yet clear to me exactly what's involved. Are there any examples or can someone provide a good starting point for me? Any helpful hints from someone who's implemented such a thing would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Tim
