   newt now writes syscfg values that are a single number without parentheses, so MYNEWT_VAL(X_FLASH_ID) expands to plain n and can be pasted into element name directly. Parentheses no longer have to be stripped and BSPs can use plain literal ids.
   
   Requires newt with syscfg change that drops parentheses around single token values.
   
   needed after https://github.com/apache/mynewt-newt/pull/658 is merged
