   There has been recent discussion around support for tensors as a canonical extension type.  That might be a better and more general purpose solution for this ask.  I am not as familiar with all of the nuance involved but I would encourage you to take a look at [1](https://github.com/apache/arrow/issues/33924)[2](https://github.com/apache/arrow/issues/15483)[3](https://lists.apache.org/thread/3cj0cr44hg3t2rn0kxly8td82yfob1nd) and see if that proposal could work.
