Starting Introduction to Contributing to Apache OpenOffice Module

I am a licensed architect with 35 years of experience.  I am currently working in manufacturing.  I am a long time user of Open Office and Libra Office as opensource alternatives to anything Microsoft.  Their business model, in my mind, is immoral.
