Re: Message not coming when i rename the Xerces_1_1.dll to VSXercesLib

I'm not sure I understand what you mean. Could you give a more in-depth
explanation of what you are trying to do? Is it that you want to rename the
DLL, but you cannot for some reason? Or you can, but it just doesn't work
when you try to use it?

Hello..

I'm trying to implement xml program for Visual Basic.

So I use COM object, xml4com.

Where can I acquire the sample programs for VB.

thanks...in advance..

PS ) I send this mail again, for my name was displayed "??".

The COM wrapper for Xerces-C supports the same interfaces as Microsoft's
MSXML2 parser but not all the functionality, for example, those
functions that assume the presence of a XSLT processor return E_NOTIMPL.

In general, many Visual Basic programs written using MSXML will function
equivalently with xerces-com if the statement that creates the parser is
changed from something like:

Dim parser as new MSXML2.DOMDocument

to

Dim parser as new Xerces.DOMDocument

So most samples at http://www.microsoft.com/xml would work with only
minor modification.

In general, the motivation for using Xerces-COM has been substantially
reduced since it was initially written. Microsoft has brought their
parser into much better comformance with the XML standard. Now the
primary reason for using Xerces-COM would be to support pre-IE 4 Windows 95.

If you are just starting, I'd recommend just using the Microsoft XML
parser and if you need to deploy on pre-IE 4 Win95, then you make some
minor modifications and use Xerces-com.
