Re: Proposition of new HTML website for ServiceMix based on Lukask ideas

Hi,

I have updated the ServiceMix web site to move the styles from the

Another possible layout would be to have the menu float along with the
search box and three colored boxes so that it stay on the right.
If we have the small blue line extended at the same time, I think this would
be ok.

Hi JB,

I have used a liquid layout where the columns can float but this could
be changed easily depending what we prefer to do all together ;-)

With my screen resolution (1920x1100) the search and right menu are
"far" from top menu (left aligned).

Re: Proposition of new HTML website for ServiceMix based on Lukask ideas

Posted by Charles Moulliard <cm...@gmail.com>.
Hi,

I have removed the HTML Table tags and replaced them by <div> tags and
CSS display: table, row, cell. The result is not yet finalised but you
can have a look to see how it looks like now !

See ServiceMix-home2.html page

http://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/servicemix/sandbox/cmoulliard/
http://people.apache.org/~cmoulliard/

Regards,

Charles

Hi Gert,

If we remove the tables, what would you use instead - something like
that --> http://blog.innovativethought.net/2007/06/11/simulating-a-table-using-an-unordered-list/,
https://github.com/the-teacher/IE-css-table-emulate/blob/master/index.html
?

Regards,

Charles

Hey Charles,

That's already a good step in the right direction - you moved all the text
styles and some of the images into the CSS to make the HTML a lot less
cluttered. I just wonder if we shouldn't take this one step further and
replace the table based layout by a div/css-based alternative to make it
easier to reproduce the same look and feel across projects and modules.
 Wdyt?

A few weeks ago, Guillaume also mentioned he was going to work on this - not
sure how far along he got, but we should make sure we're not all working on
the same thing here.
