@Regina: I thinke the "Chart area" in oooforum's description means the Chart
object. 

Sharo is right, changing the default sheet name can avoid the issue. 
And it seems a regression defect. The same scenario works on OO3.1(on WinXP),
OO3.3(on MacOSX10.7).
