Project bootstrapping

Hi,

Again there seems to a be a lack on discussion on list about this, without this conversation (requested several times nows) we cannot help you.

Can the PPMC please respond and tell me where they are up to with:
- Submitting the software grant
- Moving the repos over to ASF infrastructure
- Moving the website over to ASF infrastructure
- Having all PPMC members sign ICLAs
- Adding all PPMC members to the roster
- Having all PPMC members signed up to the private list
- Moving off list communication to this list

Thanks,
Justin

Right, SGA has been signed, just doing the final review. The ICLAs of all
PPMC members have been signed and submitted.

I was a bit confused here and had the same question before.
But given most of legal process from Tencent side has been done (in final
review), I think the risk here is relatively low. Next time, let's pay more
attention to it.

But it seem the code has been transferred to the ASF repos before this is done and before the ICLAs have been signed. This is problematic.

Thanks,
Justin

I'm really sorry for the delay of the SGA.

The legal affairs department of the company is still reviewing the SGA,
I've pushed them to review the SGA as soon as possible.

I will submit the SGA immediately when I get the it.

Hi,

TUBEMQ-5 is tracking the issue and, correct me if I'm wrong, for
contribution, contributors always start the code work locally and later
submit a patch(or open a pull request) to the project and ask for review.
Now the progress is towards to submit a patch. Hopefully it would happen in
this week.

Best,
tison.

The website is under developing by Zak and FYI this thread[1]. He's moving
the discussion on that thread and
hopefully we create a POC pull request corresponding to TUBEMQ-5 later.

Again why has this not been addressed? Can someone please answer this.

Again no answer? Why is this? The PPMC needs to be responsive to questions asked by mentors.

Thanks,
Justin

Re: Project bootstrapping(Internet mail)

Hi,

> The development is still undergoing on my personal repo,

What is the public URL of this repo? The development of the web site should be a collaborative effort, it needs to be in the open where anyone can contribute. It needs to be done on ASF infrastructure.

A suggestion: The best course of action would be to transfer it to an ASF repo and work on it there before it is finished.

There are also a number of requirements that podling sites need to follow [1]

Thanks,
Justin

This cannot be done until the SGA has been signed.

Where is this development happening? Why is this development not happening in an ASF repo?

Thanks,
Justin

Hi justin,

  Thanks for your efforts!

The progress of each task is as follows:

> - Submitting the software grant

Software License Agreement (SGA) is in preparation, but it will take some
time and we will submit it to ASF next week.

> - Moving the repos over to ASF infrastructure

Done

> - Moving the website over to ASF infrastructure

The TubeMQ website is still under development, and we will move the website
to apache immediately when it is ready.

> - Having all PPMC members sign ICLAs

About 5 PPMC members who have not signed the ICLA, I will push them to sign
the ICLA as soon as possible.

> - Adding all PPMC members to the roster

All PPMC members who have the apache id have been added to roster.

> - Having all PPMC members signed up to the private list

I'll push all PPMC members who has the apache id to subscribe the private
list as soon as possible.

> - Moving off list communication to this list

Sure, the mail list will be used for all communication

Hi,

Can anyone help answer this? We have 18 PPMC members on this project. What are each of you doing to help move this project to the ASF?

Thanks,
Justin
