pserver via proxy

Hello 

I am trying to access pserver via proxy and it gives this error

cvs [login aborted]: the :pserver;proxy=proxy;proxyport=8080: access method
is not supported by this port of CVS

Does the axis pserver support for connection thru proxy servers?
