[jira] [Closed] (ROL-594) Better Permalinks

Glen Mazza closed ROL-594.
--------------------------

    Resolution: Fixed

I think this issue has been long fixed -- permalinks now go to the precise, single blog entry.

> Roller needs better permalinks. Currently, permalinks specify the date in the pathinfo of the URL and the HTML anchor to the post. This helps the browser find the place on the page where the entry is, but on the server we're stuck with a URL that only identifies the day.
> We should switch from:
> /blog/username/YYYYDDMM#post_id
> To this:
> /blog/username/YYYYDDMM/post_id
> Old permalinks would still work fine and as they do now. New permalinks would take you to a page with only a single entry and comments if there are any.
> Note that the Roller anchor is the post ID within a blog, that's why I call it post_id in the URLs above.
>
> Java.blogs will hate us again when we change. So it goes.
