[jira] Created: (CAMEL-1286) DataFormat - why didnt we add generics to it

DataFormat - why didnt we add generics to it
--------------------------------------------

                 Key: CAMEL-1286
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/activemq/browse/CAMEL-1286
             Project: Apache Camel
          Issue Type: Improvement
          Components: camel-core
            Reporter: Claus Ibsen
             Fix For: 2.0.0

public interface DataFormat

If we had generics on it would probably be a bit easier to work with.

Just adding this ticket to not forget and get thoughts of the other Camel riders, any thoughts?

And it throws Exception do we want that in the API?
