JIRA assign & admin permissions
Hi Training Developers,
Recently I've observed that I'm not anymore admin in JIRA for the training
project. Could you please assign admin role back?
Also, I cannot assign issues to me there.
Sincerely,
Dmitriy Pavlov

Hi Dmitriy,
sorry, this could have been me when I tried to play around with groups :(
Soon Jira will also be LDAP enabled and then we can just use LDAP groups
like in Confluence.
Cheers,
Lars

Ah! I keep making that mistake! I was on that page but tried only the
"edit" link to the right, because I was convinced that the project name
link would simply take me back to the project summary page.
I've added you as an admin and was able to assign the issue to you - so
looks better now I'd say.
Best regards,
Sönke

Hi,
Thank you for your replies and checking. I am still admin in Ignite
project, so I guess it is not an LDAP problem.
User can be added to a role in JIRA Administration (gear icon can be found
near current user avatar) -> Project -> TRAINING
'Users and roles'
'Add users to a role'
'Users or groups:'
dpavlov
Role
I guess it is the Administrators group. I suggest to add me to admins so I
could add newcomers to the contributors' group so they can assign issues
too.
Sincerely,
Dmitriy Pavlov

Hi Dmitriy,
I am unsure where to assign jira roles tbh - the site lists only Lars as
jira project lead, so maybe he can do something about that.
Kenn might also be right, though I was under the impression that the
migration so far only touches the test system...then again we all know how
these things can have a certain blast radius :)
I've tried assigning the ticket to you, but for some reason cannot find you
in the user list (accidentally assigned Kenn the ticket for a short time,
sorry about that!). I am able to find other people in the field..
Best regards,
Sönke

This may have to do with the Jira migration to LDAP.
