Its Friday and I'm smiling

All

I know we can sometimes get a bit downbeat in this community about the looming shadow of a certain other opensource IaaS platform that grabs all the attention.

I just thought I'd share this email that I was just CC'd on (edited slightly for confidentiality).

=========================

"I want to move to cloudstack, after pushing so hard for openstack. In hindsight the glammer of an all singing-dancing cloud system has not happened -just lots of pain and frustration at lack of implementation ( even with Fuel v5). I wish cloudstack 4.3 had been released earlier as the previous version I discounted as not offering the requirements.

I now believe a change to cloudstack with xenserver hosts would be best option. We use xenserver now for dev and test systems and from the mailing lists understand we can redeploy these VMs to a cloudstack system. ....... when deploying Openstack (what a nightmare that has been for a simple 4 node system).

I have to say that the cloustack mailing list is more responsive than openstack which gives me comfort. I just need to get my line manager to agree to change direction which will be decided tomorrow afternoon."

==============================

It put a smile on my face and made me remember just how great CloudStack is.

Keep up the good work everybody !

Kind Regards
Giles

That's totally fine, Giles.

I'm pulling together a list of testimonials, and very much appreciate the pointer to the other sources.

I feel that if you don't ask, you'll never know. The flip side is that it can be misinterpreted as pushy American rudeness <g>

By no means take what I asked as a directive --we're patient, and are happy to welcome testimonials whenever they arrive.

Standing by with the cheerleading pompoms,
Sally

Sally - believe me, if I was in a position to I would have this wrapped up into a case study/testimonial already ☺
I can’t right now – but will ask once in a position to.

BTW: seriously, if you want testimonials why don’t you just ask people on this (and the other lists)

Also
If you’ve got time, look at either of these 2 panels. They’re all people from significant users

If you want testimonial quotes, just lift them from there: they’re already in the public domain !

Others: please feel free to chime in with other potential sources of quotes

Thanks so much, Giles.

I love love love reading this!

I am very keen on having this generified testimonial used in our promotions somehow (likely parts of it). Would you be kind enough to see if they are amenable to this in future?

Many thanks in advance for your help with this.

Happy Friday & bon weekend!
