Google Analytics on Cordova Docs

Hi all,

I see the usage of Google Analytics on the main Crodova website.
Would be good to have docs pages tracking too.

For me personally very interesting which translation pages is most visited
and thus which of them I have to proofread first. Another interested metric
is which version of docs are more visited. I have experience that peoples
without knowing look at the wrong version of docs.

What do you think about such initiative?

I add GA code to the templates and now somebody has to republish docs to
all changes appear on the website.

I will pickup that task. That's trivial fix, but somebody else should
generate all other versions and publish, I could only ensure that
generation should works for all versions.
Will let you know about the progress

RE: Google Analytics on Cordova Docs

Posted by Nikhil Khandelwal <ni...@microsoft.com>.
I have updated the GA tracking id to the new one for a lot of recent versions of the docs. We're getting data as well now. We'll have to figure out how to summarize and make that data actionable.

Thanks,
Nikhil

Posted by Nikhil Khandelwal <ni...@microsoft.com>.
I've create a JIRA here with all details: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/CB-9295

We can use it to track who picks it up.

Thanks,
Nikhil

We just setup a new GA account for Cordova project. All of the Cordova PMC has access to the GA account, we'll have to figure out how to provide you access.

We need to update the current set of docs with the new GA ID for it to generate any data currently. Would you be able to help with that?

Thanks,
Nikhil

Should I create new GA account for docs, or we could reuse existing?
If we will use existing, could you give me access so I would monitor docs website?

+1 to adding analytics to docs too. I think this will also help us concentrate on specific types of docs. We will know if people like tutorial like things or references.

Hi all,

I see the usage of Google Analytics on the main Crodova website.
Would be good to have docs pages tracking too.

For me personally very interesting which translation pages is most visited and thus which of them I have to proofread first. Another interested metric is which version of docs are more visited. I have experience that peoples without knowing look at the wrong version of docs.

What do you think about such initiative?
