[jira] Created: (OFBIZ-2625) Product Comparisons in eCommerce
Product Comparisons in eCommerce
--------------------------------
Key: OFBIZ-2625
URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/OFBIZ-2625
Project: OFBiz
Issue Type: New Feature
Components: product, specialpurpose/ecommerce
Affects Versions: SVN trunk
Reporter: Scott Gray
Assignee: Scott Gray
Fix For: SVN trunk
Within the next day or so I intend to commit a new feature that enable customers to compare any number of products with each other.
* Product Lists and Product pages will have an "Add to Compare" link next to each product.
* Upon clicking this link the product will be added to a list stored in the session which will be displayed in a side bar screenlet.
* As soon as one or more products have been added to the list, a "Compare" button will display in the side bar screenlet.
* Clicking on this button will produce a pop up window displaying a comparison of all products in the list
* Products will be displayed in columns with each row containing a comparison point, comparison points will be product description, price and then any standard and distinguishing features for the products. If one product has a feature that another does not then the cell will be blank for the latter product.
* The header row will contain each product's name and small image
* The second to last row will contain each product's price and the final row will contain buttons to add each product to the cart or to a shopping list.
If anybody has any suggestions I'd be glad to hear them.

I guess
* As soon as one or more products have been added to the list, a "Compare" button will display in the side bar screenlet.
means
* As soon as 2 or more products have been added to the list, a "Compare" button will display in the side bar screenlet.

-----------------------------------
Hi Jacques,
It does sense to compare two products side by side, but I figure there is nothing preventing a single product from being displayed in a nice feature list format so why not allow it?
