Gijs Molenaar commented on MESOS-8401:
--------------------------------------
I realise now I use the packages supplied by mesosphere, probably I should report the bug there.

> Key: MESOS-8401
> URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/MESOS-8401
> Project: Mesos
> Issue Type: Bug
> Components: python api
> Affects Versions: 1.4.1
> Reporter: Gijs Molenaar
>
> When I install the Mesos package the Python files are installed in `/usr/lib/python2.7/site-packages`. This should be dist-packages:
> Also, the permissions are quite restrictive, and can only be accessed by root.
> This wouldn't be a problem if the Python API was easily installable by Pip which they are not, which makes the Debian packages potentially very useful.
