Batik 1.1.1 and Java 1.4

Hi group,

I wonder if anyone has installed Batik 1.1.1 and the latest JDK 1.4 yet.
Are they compatible with each other? How about performance?

Thanks!

Has anyone tried running batik against the 1.4 jre without an X
server running? In other words, does using the 1.4 jre/jdk mean I'm no
longer required to run an X server in order to use batik?

Ditto - I noticed no difference. The only problems I've had with 1.4 so
far was with an installer that didn't realise that 1.4 > 1.2, and
Netbeans wasn't happy (so I've got 1.3 jars installed as well).

Batik itself seems to be fast, but java2d is not. I have

I missed them too - could you please repost.

Cheers,
Danny.

I have. My experience was good in terms of compatibility, but not in terms
of the performance. Java 1.4 doesn't seem to perform better in rendering
than java 1.3. Batik itself seems to be fast, but java2d is not. I have
already posted some of my test results to this list several days ago, but I
can repeat them.
