[users@httpd] Lost init.d file

I installed Apache 1.2.23 from source on a SuSE 8.0
installation because I was having trouble with rpm
modules not loading properly. However, when I removed
the rpm version of Apache, SuSE took the init.d script
with it. Is there a place to get a copy or a way to
start and stop Apache automatically without it. It's
on a laptop development computer which is shutdown
frequently for transport and I'm forever forgetting to
start or stop it.

Thanks in advance for help...LD
