One of REEF's goals is to facilitate development in JVM and CLR based languages as well as a mixture thereof. We have achieved this goal [REEF-51] is merged for the Driver and the Evaluator side. One remaining challenge to solve is the client side. Right now, the job submission abstraction provided by REEF assumes that the client is a JVM or at least that there is a JVM on the same machine. That isn't always the case, nor should REEF impose such a requirement.

Initial work towards addressing this ([REEF-54]) unearthed a number of unsolved issues which we will track as tasks as part of this JIRA.
