for what it's worth, in 3.2.0 you can also use a new "--cf" switch:

    spamassassin --cf "use_auto_whitelist 0" ...

spamd doesn't take configuration from spamc, so no.

Do you know if that option will be supported by spamc as well?  If so 
I'll probably hang fire until 3.2.0 is released.
