> Started today as far as I can tell.  Doesn't always happen.  Looking at it, we are splitting region not where we are supposed to -- at the 1/4 mark rather than 1/2 mark which then throws off all calculations.  Let me commit some debug to help elicit where we are going wrong.  Here is a sample:
