Soap Exception - Version problem?

When trying to deploy a soap service (any service) I get the following error. 
I am running xml-soap version 1.2, and xerces version 1.1.1 . 

Obviously the problem is that org.apache.soap.server.DeploymentDescriptor.from
XML
is looking for a method
org.w3c.dom.Node.getNamespaceURI() that returns Ljava.lang.String
 when in fact the said method returns java.lang.string

Is this a version incompatability problem? What version of xerces should I be 
running?
