   @ajantha-bhat thanks for raising attention!
   1.1.0 is branched from master so I guess if we keep this approach we won't need a branch like 1.0.x anymore. Would it make sense to drop that branch to avoid any confusion about its purpose? If dropping is even possible.

   I think fixing only in the master branch is enough. As per my knowledge, this porting is unnecessary as Iceberg will not do a release for those branches. 
   
   The next release is 1.1.0, So, if that branch is already made from the master, maybe we need to raise the fix for this branch.

   Going forward we'll be tagging & releasing from `master` but I don't think we'd want to delete `1.0.x`. That being said I think we can close this PR here since https://github.com/apache/iceberg/pull/5059 was already merged to master
