First I want to confirm that this feature is not yet available in my version of
OpenOffice: AOO400m3(Build:9702) - Rev. 1503704. This is using a 64-bit
version of Windows 8.

To be sure, I tried multiple formats of dates, none of which auto-completed.
September 24, 2013
9/24/2013
09/24/2013
24 September, 2013
24/09/2013
24/9/2013

I did notice that auto completion on the month name functions properly, and
works similar to MS Words date completion. Typing "Sep" shows the word
Septembers, and completes by pressing the enter key. MS Word autocompletes the
word September as well using "Sept", but pressing space after entering the word
is what causes the auto-completion of the entire date.

I agree that this would be a useful feature to add and would be consistent with
a competitor product (MS Word).
