mod_frontpage

I've been fighting trying to get the Frontpage module to work. I tried using the Apache Toolbox, but it wanted to completely re-install Apache. (I have Mandrake Linux, which puts the Apache files in non-standard places in the directory.) Can anyone point me to a good how-to for this module? Thanks!
