Where are we on the website migration, ooo-site -> openoffice.org?

Subject above is the question. I thought we were really close. What
is needed to push this live? What specifically are we waiting for?

The current ooo-site -> www.openoffice.org plan is to do a blanket redirect of *.openoffice.org to www.openoffice.org/*

I think that we should consider keeping the extensions and templates independent. I think we should adjust ooo-site.apache.org/extensions/index.html to be the extensions and templates touch point. This will let us explain the developing extensions and templates situation AND proceed with migration independently.

Dave

I haven't got access yet, so I can't check it. I assume that URL is
somewhere under openoffice.org or kenai.com, but it is just an assumption.

Exactly what URL do the extensions and templates use for LDAP?

What about web services? I assume that the single-sign-on in place at
http://extensions.services.openoffice.org/ , for example, depends on
something that is currently served from the openoffice.org domain (the
same accounts are used for https://openoffice.org/people/login but they
won't probably be used in the migrated site).

If the web services (or LDAP authentication, I don't know how it works
internally) are not preserved, something will break for sure:
Extensions, Templates, the (now defunct anyway) QATrack and I don't know
what else.

Regards,
   Andrea.

When we have a podling release it will be on the Apache infra. Apache has a mirror system.

All the legacy OOo donwloads are in the apache archives.

Ok, I just changed the link on this but the cns is ahving issues at the
moment.

(5) the download may need revision to deal with mirrors. Right now it's
still going to mirrorbrain. We discussed some kind of Apache mirror
solution, but nothing has been setup or tested.

(6) The Forums link on

 http://ooo-site.apache.org/support/

goes to main page (language listing) with Oracle branding whereas the
individual language pages seem to be correct with Apache branding...not
sure what's going on here.

Rob asked on another thread and I answered there.

(1) Finish wrapping with breadcrumbs, topnav and folder specific topnav. Also license/copyright.

(2) Approval from Trademarks.

(3) Redirection list for subdomains. Kay you could help with this.

(4) Participate link.

Then co-ordination with Infra to do these:

(a) Publish build for ooo-site.
(b) Build VirtualHosts for subdomains.
(c) Change public DNS for OOo.

My view on this:

If something is already wrong on the existing legacy openoffice.org
website, then I would not wait for it to be fixed before making the
new site live. It will still be wrong when we go live, but it will be
no worse. But it will be easier for others to find and fix errors
once we go live.

But if something is broken on ooo-site that was working fine on the
legacy site, then we might want to fix that first. So aim not to be
worse than what is on openoffice.org today.

Well there were there was the "clean up" item on Contributing that you
asked for that I was looking at just now and will fix today.

I will attempt to look at the "whole" later today, coupled with the small
"Content Migration" section we have on this wiki page:

and update it with what I think needs to be done -- to get this up
