runtime error

OK, was able to build and build dist
but when trying to run startup.sh
from
/web/sites/java/jakarta/dist/tomcat/bin
I get :

[root@www bin]# ./startup.sh 
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: org/apache/tomcat/shell/Startup
Guessing TOMCAT_HOME from tomcat.sh to ./..
Setting TOMCAT_HOME to ./..
cd ./..
Using classpath:
.:./../lib/ant.jar:./../lib/jasper.jar:./../lib/servlet.jar:./../lib/test:./../lib/webserver.jar:./../lib/xml.jar:/usr/jdk1.2/bin/../lib/tools.jar:.:/usr/jdk1.2/lib/tools.jar:/usr/jdk1.2:/web/sites/java:
[root@www bin]# Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError:
org/apache/tomcat/startup/Tomcat

cd /web/sites/java/jakarta/dist/tomcat
./bin/startup.sh
