[Roller-JIRA] Created: (ROL-1385) Mobile Device Page Rendering Optimization

Mobile Device Page Rendering Optimization
-----------------------------------------

                 Key: ROL-1385
                 URL: http://opensource.atlassian.com/projects/roller/browse/ROL-1385
             Project: Roller
          Issue Type: New Feature
            Reporter: linda skrocki
            Assignee: Roller Unassigned

Detect mobile user agents and render content only for a limited # (1, 3, ?) of blog posts & weblog title info. Per Greg (UI design guy) @ Sun, maybe hide the stylesheet from the mobile devices, and just give it unstyled html, or develop a simple mobile media stylesheet

tim nelson commented on ROL-1385:
---------------------------------

Hi. Optimizing CEO Schwartz blog for mobile playback, as Linda points out, is the goal. Then there's the need to roll this out across all 10 additional language blog versions. Unavoidable necessity at some point, for sure.

>From a UI standpoint, I'm interested in incorporating a small, highly-optimized GIF blog banner for Jonathan's smartphone version. Does stylesheet modification allow for the use of a small banner graphic as a 'master masthead'? Compared to his blog today, http://blogs.sun.com/jonathan/ there's no need to display any other buttons or jazz in his right nav. And the length of blog copy is TBD, but something based on fast load time vs. consumer 'need'.

Thanks, -Tim Nelson Creative Manager, Executive Communcations, Sun <ti...@sun.com>
