Load data into HIVE from HDFS Clarification

When one loads data to hive , if the file is in hdfs, it is moved into the Hive-controlled file system namespace.
and deleted from hdfs. Is it possible to change it so , file wouldn't be moved, but copied?

You can create the table and then copy the files into place by hand
but having a keyword built in would not be a bad thing.
