[jira] [Created] (MNG-6594) Honor the .gitignore file when creating
an assembly
Adrian Cole created MNG-6594:
--------------------------------
Summary: Honor the .gitignore file when creating an assembly
Key: MNG-6594
URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/MNG-6594
Project: Maven
Issue Type: Improvement
Components: Plugin Requests
Reporter: Adrian Cole
Here's the use case.. I am using the unofficial maven wrapper. It implicitly downloads a jar file, which is listed in .gitignore.
When building a source distribution, I would like to not have to special-case inside my assembly config, things already in this .gitignore.
I understand this can be a problem with binary distributions, so this could be an option not a default.
