Or I could make a mirror and run them here.

Dean(?) made a suggestion some eons ago about creating mirrors under
apache.org. I like the idea, but only for mirrors run by "trusted
people". No, I can't define that.

The other option is to do like FreeBSD and have things like
www.ca.apache.org, www.uk.apache.org, etc.

I still have some thoughts to add on the mirroring issue but haven't had
time yet... sigh.

Very nice. That and cvsweb should be put on the live site, the CGI scripts
seem fairly efficient (which was my big worry).

Sit there and look pretty?

Nothing particular in mind; perhaps put it up the web site with the cvsweb
one to give people better web access to the source. Apache development
has been quite closed. It is opening up more. That is good. This is
just one thing that makes it more accessable.

No, I don't have any useful purpose in mind for it...

Hmm. Neat. What purpose did you have in mind for it? I can see how it
might be useful in a couple of circumstances, but I'm curious to
know its intended use.

Neato.

About four years ago I participated in the standards discussions for
DWARF, the debugging info format that goes along with ELF. The big new
thing that my company was pushing for was putting enough cross reference
data into the debugging info so that you could build proper source
browsing tools. In the PC world, these tools are a necessity so that your
compiler package can hope to fight in the big leagues. I've never
understood why unix lacks so much in this area...

I know, you can get some of this stuff if you pay for the big boys
compiler packages. But I want something that ties into gcc :)
