Timmy, your proposal looks pretty decent to me.... but I'm just one
person on the project.  I expect Karl has more feedback for you, since
this is more his area of expertise.

Subversion developers:  we have 6 student proposals so far, and the
deadline is next Tuesday.  You should take a look if you haven't done
so already:  http://code.google.com/soc/2008/svn/open.html

Students:  I think there's sometimes some confusion over what a
"proposal" is.  A proposal isn't simply writing "I'm interested in
working on X, here's my resume."   A proposal needs to have much more
than that:  it needs to have details about exactly how the problem
will be tackled, potential issues, a timeline for work... some sort of
proof that the student has been thinking about the problem.
