Dear Santosh,

I have been trying to access the staging demo and I have some points to
suggest:

1. The system is not accepting decimals. In cash management/ cash
allocation and in saving, loan dispalying invalid decimal.

2. The value in date fields are not capturing, you will have to click back
again for the system to capture.

Santosh - I was hoping to see an epic or list of tickets or something
similar on the fineract wiki. Is that something I could help with?

I'm probably playing catch up here but I think it helps to show community
momentum if there's a place to document the release and what made it in and
what is pushed out. Where should I look on Apache infra?

Hello Santosh,

In general, it's not an announcement until the Fineract PMC approves the
release, and we haven't put it up for a vote yet. Once that is
accomplished, dev@community.apache.org is not the place to announce it when
that comes time either. dev@community is for discussing community
development in an over-arching Apache context.

With respect to the specifics, I'll respond further on the dev@fineract

Myrle,

Planning is underway in the context of the discussion that had began in
March around the initial planning for 1.2, the fact that tickets that
didn't make it to 1.2 have been moved to 1.3 and that dates have been
modified.

This page has been updated to reflect those modified dates -
https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/FINERACT/1.3.0+-+Apache+Fineract

I will be sending out a separate email on the list to start the discussion
on the list (and per the feedback from last time to maximize participation
using asynchronous communication, rather than having a verbal call to
discuss the plans, we'll try to carry out the whole process as a discussion
on list).

Re: Announcement: Fineract 1.2.0.RELEASE

Posted by Ed Cable <ed...@mifos.org>.
Santosh,

Thank you for your efforts in communicating out what is planned to ship in
the forthcoming release. I regret that I wasn't able to give feedback on
the subject line nor the inadvertent inclusion of the dev@community list.
This process is an iterative one and we'll continue to improve over time -
thanks to Myrle and James for the feedback.

However the overall intent of your message should be clear and
understandable to the community based on the planning of the release that
begin all the way back in March. See
https://lists.apache.org/thread.html/3425786e16615a51cf74336b56b74b968ca5f7ad61357e9645252923@%3Cdev.fineract.apache.org%3E
for the discussion of this release.

This discussion has in fact carried on (without any input unfortunately)
related to review and merging of the PRs that had been identified in that
initial planning process throughout the past several months.

Discussion of the process we're following in publishing the release notes,
prior to a vote was held back in March as well. -
https://lists.apache.org/thread.html/a4ffe1c291bffe54e5ff5a1b6bd778a5607297f00ff9265529c94441@%3Cdev.fineract.apache.org%3E

@James Dailey <ja...@gmail.com> - Santosh did include the link to
the release notes (
https://issues.apache.org/jira/secure/ReleaseNote.jspa?projectId=12319420&version=12342856)
which has all the tickets that have the fix version of 1.2.0 assigned to
them that have been completed, merged and with QA complete/underway.

Next time, I'll have him include the actual links to those tickets in the
body of the email which is something both of us considered

Going forward we could have included these additional links:

Fineract 1.2 Release Page:
https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/FINERACT/1.2.0+-+Apache+Fineract
- primarily contains the release notes which have been linked above.

Re: Announcement: Fineract 1.2.0.RELEASE

Posted by Santosh Math <sa...@confluxtechnologies.com>.
Hi Myrle,

The code in the test server (staging) is currently from develop branch of
the Apache Fineract github repo and the branch and date is mentioned in the
home page once you logged in. Whenever some PRs are merged in develop
branch, we update the test server with same. We do it continuously if
sufficient PRs are merged. That's why we are not creating tag whenever we
update test server with latest code from develop branch.

As I mentioned in previous mail, vote to take place next week and I must
have mentioned it as 'planned schedule'. Apologies. :)

The release of Fineract 1.3 is yet to be discussed based on Shuthi's inputs
about ongoing development work and PR merges. She is on leave until next
Monday. I will let you know soon about it.

Thanks
Santosh

So and now for the Fineracters,

Santosh, can you please tag the code in github for the version that's on
the test server? This would improve transparency, and make me feel more
comfortable when it comes time to vote on the release.

Also, can you please provide a pointer to where planning for 1.3 is
underway?

Best Regards,
Myrle
