[jira] [Commented] (SOLR-14444) Ref Guide Redesign Phase 2: Page Organization Overhaul

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/SOLR-14444?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=17360296#comment-17360296 ]

Cassandra Targett commented on SOLR-14444:
------------------------------------------

I've been working on this for 6-8 months at least (maybe longer, I've lost track), and it's nearly ready. I've written up a wiki page with an overview of the major changes & some screenshots: https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/SOLR/Ref+Guide+Re-Org+2021

It's not ready for a PR yet, there's still some more page renames I want to do before proposing to merge it. Might be a few days or as much as another week before I put up the PR and get ready for more detailed discussion on the finer points.

> SOLR-14173 changed the look & feel of the Ref Guide, and left one glaring problem unresolved: our top-level categories are far too many for that sort of design.
> This issue will track a full reconsideration of the Ref Guide organization. I have a couple of thoughts and will update this issue with those when I get started on it; for now this is a placeholder issue for future work.
