bug found

I seem to have found a bug... with the help of users... 

If you specify different log files in the <virtual ... > section, a 
kill -HUP, or -1 will not close them. 

I'll take a look at the code.

This has always worked for me.  I remember in 0.8 days this worked on 
BSDI but not Solaris, but that was fixed at some point.
