Cygwin script with long filename fails.Path separator removed
Summary: Cygwin script with long filename fails.Path separator
removed
Product: Apache httpd-1.3
Version: 1.3.26
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Windows NT/2K
Status: NEW
Severity: Normal
Priority: Other
Component: mod_cgi
AssignedTo: bugs@httpd.apache.org
ReportedBy: mlambert@kodak.com
I upgraded from 1.3.14 to 1.3.26 Native Win32 server. CGI scripts with long
(>8.3) filenames calling cygwin shell now fail - internal server error.
Examination of the Error log shows path separators are being removed (while
creating DOS 8.3 filename?).
Premature end of script headers: d:/usr/local/etc/httpd/cgi-bin/xxxxxxxxx.xrf
d:usrlocaletchttpdcgi-binXXXXXX~1.XRF: Can't open
d:usrlocaletchttpdcgi-binXXXXXX~1.XRF
Access log
"GET /cgi-bin/xxxxxxxxx.xrf HTTP/1.0" 500 604
Same file content with shorter name -
"GET /cgi-bin/xxxxxxxx.xrf HTTP/1.0" 200 147
Sample script:
#!/bin/sh.exe
echo -e "Content-type: text/html\n"
echo -e "<html><HEAD><TITLE>Data Processed</TITLE></HEAD>"
echo -e "<BODY><center><h2>Data processed</h2><hr></body></html>"
I have tried 1.3.19, 20, 26 - all have this problem
Version 1.3.14 is OK.
