[jira] Commented: (GERONIMO-1518) Installer - only copy jars needed by selected configuration

David Jencks commented on GERONIMO-1518:
----------------------------------------

This patch doesn't work very well for me. The first time I tried jetty I got a server that starts but the console didn't work (got the first page but could not log in). I tried tomcat and got exceptions in the "log" window during installation. The resulting server did not start due to missing geronimo-spec/geronimo-spec-corba/2.3-rc4/jar . Then I tried jetty again and got the same wont start due to missing geronimo-spec/geronimo-spec-corba/2.3-rc4/jar error.

I dont think that trying to copy the dependencies by hand will work because it is impossible to maintain the dependency info in the installer synchronized with the geronimo-service.xml files /the classpath in the actual configurations. I think that using the assembly plugin code to install cars from a repo inside the installer jar is the only approach that will work, even short term.
