[jira] [Commented] (THRIFT-3965) VisualStudio project cannot build compiler CPP project

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/THRIFT-3965?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=15651846#comment-15651846 ]

James E. King, III commented on THRIFT-3965:
--------------------------------------------

Are you trying to use the project file that is checked in or the project file that CMake generates?
I would suggest we remove the static project file that is checked in and have folks generate a project using cmake.
It will always be correct and up to date. This is not the first issue in this area, the other is assigned to me.
Let me know which one you were using.

> Based on the current git master branch.
> The project's {{t_generator.h}} want to use the header file {{version.h}}:
> {code}
> #include "thrift/version.h"
> {code}
> The file does not exist but {{version.h.in}} is there and looks to be expected by the CMake build's {{CMakeLists.txt}}:
> {code}
> configure_file(${CMAKE_CURRENT_SOURCE_DIR}/src/thrift/version.h.in ${CMAKE_CURRENT_BINARY_DIR}/thrift/version.h)
> {code}
> As a workaround I just copied {{version.h.in}} to {{version.h}}.
> It would be nice to fix this.
