Feature Request: streaming mime attachments

I have an application that transmits large amounts of information
using the mime attachment facility of SOAP. The only problem
is that apparently SOAP doesn't actually stream the mime attachment
into the InputStream on the other end. Therefore, I had to break
the stream up into small chunks and send each individually for
performance reasons.

Is it possible that the mime attachments could be literally streamed
in in the special case of one attachment, so that it isn't prohibitive
in terms of memory and CPU efficiency to use SOAP in this
fashion?

Thanks,

Bill

For your reference, a discussion on this in August of last year:

Somebody recently offered a mechanism to store attachments as files
while they are being processed (instead of in memory), but I can't
seem to find the message at the moment.
