Sqoop 1.99.6 Release?

Hey guys,

There has been a lot of work on Sqoop2 recently on changes that are
orthogonal to the 1.99.6 release items:

   - Role Based Access Control (
   https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/SQOOP-1763)
   - Making the Rest API backwards compatible (
   https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/SQOOP-2162)
   - Fixing Sqoop2 upgrade path (
   https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/SQOOP-1841)

I propose we move the 1.99.6 release items in
https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/SQOOP/Sqoop+2+Roadmap to 1.99.7
and having a 1.99.6 release now. Would that work for folks?

I see a ton of +1s. Let's get this release started then. Thanks Richard for volunteering to be the release manager. I can mentor you on this journey :).

Hey guys,

There has been a lot of work on Sqoop2 recently on changes that are orthogonal to the 1.99.6 release items:

I propose we move the 1.99.6 release items in https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/SQOOP/Sqoop+2+Roadmap to 1.99.7 and having a 1.99.6 release now. Would that work for folks?
