[jira] [Created] (ACCUMULO-392) Accumulo does not start up nicely in provisioned hadoop installations

Accumulo does not start up nicely in provisioned hadoop installations
---------------------------------------------------------------------

                 Key: ACCUMULO-392
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/ACCUMULO-392
             Project: Accumulo
          Issue Type: Bug
    Affects Versions: 1.4.0
            Reporter: John Vines

We currently design our scripts to expect hadoop installed from it's tarball. This means we have a single $HADOOP_HOME directory with it's libs in the root, the conf directory in $HADOOP_HOME/conf, etc. This does not play nicely in provisioned installs, such as that of Rocks+ and BigTop. I think this may be as simple as leveraging $HADOOP_CONF_DIR instead of expecting $HADOOP_HOME/conf to work. We should investigate further to see if there are any other compatibility requirements we need to overcome as well.
