In the quoted text it states that the RewriteRule Pattern is applied to the
current URL. This is wrong since it is actually applied to the URL path
following http://domain.com not to the whole URL. Could cause a lot of
confusion. This error is repeated all over the place.
"Pattern can be (for Apache 1.1.x a System V8 and for Apache 1.2.x and later a
POSIX) regular expression which gets applied to the current URL. Here
``current'' means the value of the URL when this rule gets applied."
