> Although HBASE-11185 exists, it is geared towards the snapshot manifest code.  We have used snapshots to ship our two largest tables across the country and while doing so found a few potential optimizations where doing things in parallel helped quite a bit.  I can attach a patch containing changes I've made and we can discuss if these are changes worth getting pushed to 0.94.
