Virtual key signing party
Hi all,
As discussed during the 1.9.0 release, some of the committers are not
currently part of the web of trust. Given the distributed nature of the
team, organizing a face to face meetings would be difficult. Perhaps we
could have a virtual key signing party. Showing ID and key fingerprints by
webcam seems like a safe alternative. Thoughts?
Cheers,

I haven't, but assume many of the same ideas as a real life key signing
party would apply.
http://mirror-vm.apache.org/~henkp/sig/pgp-key-signing.txt
I think sending key fingerprints around by email beforehand would be
helpful. We can then either have a physically printed copy which can be
held up to be validated or just confirm verbally. To be thorough, we should
also probably all have a piece of photo ID handy.

Thanks for putting up with my technical issues. I've signed Julian's key.
I actually filled out my public key earlier today. My understanding is that
there's a script that runs once per day that actually populates that file,
so I assume it will be available tomorrow.

Re: Virtual key signing party
Posted by Julian Hyde <jh...@apache.org>.
OK, good key signing party, and not too much tequila[1]. Thanks to
everyone who took part.
I've signed and uploaded the keys of Josh, Vladimir, Michael, Jesus. I
was seeing other people's signatures on those keys, so that's a good
sign that things are working.
It looks as if https://people.apache.org/keys/committer/jhyde doesn't
have the new PGP block yet. I assume that it's just a matter of time.
Michael and Vladimir, be sure to fill out http://id.apache.org so that
your keys appear at https://people.apache.org/keys/committer/mmior and
https://people.apache.org/keys/committer/vladimirsitnikov.
